Adding a fourth rotary valve to a Martin Mammoth

I was wondering if any of you repair folks had thought about or actually even done this.My logic, the three valved Martins I've played have All played better than any of the four valved ones. I also find this to be the case with Conns and Kings.I have always thought that these(especially the older ones like these Mammoths) were designed as three valve horns and the fourth was added at the to "keep up".Anyway, now with so many horns having a fifth, larger bore rotary valve beacming so common, and every one I've played blew wonderfully on the fifth valve, no added stuffiness, have any of you esteemed repair gurus given any thought to this concept with a fourth valve for some of the wonderful old American horns. The Martin Mammoth in particular. What say ye? Thanks for any constructive input. Ed
