I'm thinking of trying it. My horns get really nasty quick (lots of green gunk) and my repair guy always shakes his head at me.

Yes! It is a remarkable product, I saw the review Dave Werden wrote which was linked on this forum a few weeks back and I bought one. I just cleaned out my Nirschl yesterday and it really works well. My only complaint is that my tub faucet doesn't work very well with the unit they sell to attach that to the hose. What works way better for me is the setup that connects to the shower head hose, if you have a hand held type head in your shower. I've started telling my students about this product because I really believe this thing can save someone lots of money. Good luck!

Seem grossly overprived when you can buy one of these and a couple of feet of vinyl tubing and roll your own for $12, but' hey, if you've got money to burn, ...

The QHR (with sudser) works very well for me. I just used it last week on my M5050 euphonium. I use it out on the front lawn on a towel (located in S. Fl) and garden hose. To get warm water I lay out the hose in the sun for awhile first. The valve felts will get wet, but on the M5050 there are no felts so no worry there.

Yes, you do need to pull out the main tuning slide.

Note: The QHR should not be a substitute for annual cleaning by a professional brass repair shop.
