Perhaps borrow a tuba stand such as the DEG & Koenig & Meyer using it to support the horn and see if that fixes the problem for you.

You could add a pad to the bottom bow of your horn to raise it up so the slide isn't bumped by the chair.

K&M stand will solve this problem and much more!
