You should have your rotors serviced just to get the playing field level. It's true that some rotors are simply faster than others 'right out of the box', but the biggest culprit of slow rotors is gunk in the casings and on the rotors. The only lubrication that is required is a drop or two of rotor oil on the axles at the front and back on the rotor and a drop on each linkage point every month or so. I don't think it's a good idea to dump rotor oil down the leadpipe as all this tends to do is gum up the rotors... especially in colder weather. Normally, a little moisture in the rotors is all it takes to make a good seal between the rotor and the casing. The most common cause for sluggish rotors (aside from mineral deposits rubbing the rotor) is too much heavy oil in them.
