Recommendations for mouthpiece restoration

Post by Ed Jones »

Subject line says it all. For those who have had resorations done, who do you recommend? I prefer to not wait several years for turnaround.

For silver plating, I've had great success with Chuck McAlexander the Brass Lab in NYC. I think he does all the silver plating for Greg Black's mouthpieces. He was fast with my mouthpiece, too . . . turnaround less than a week.

Last I asked, he wasn't doing gold plating, so you'll have to go elsewhere . . .

All of the above are excellent suggestions. I wish to add Dan Oberloh to the list of highly skilled craftsmen. He did a SPECTACULAR job for me, bringing what looked like a hopeless Conn 1 mouthpiece back to life.
