Walter Kroner?

I just acquired this horn. It needs some TLC but I made a good swap for it! Does anyone know what make it might be and how old? Maybe late 60's. The stencil on the bell reads "Walter Kroner". I can't find a serial #. Any info would be helpful.

I forgot to add that it is about 44 inches tall and the bell is 16 1/2 inches.

+1. Yup... it's a B & S like many other 'stencil' tubas like Karl Wunderlich, Sonora, Gerhart Schneider, and some others I can't remember at the moment.
Good horns. We'll worth spending a few bucks on.

Thanks guys!! Why didn't they put serial#? Do you think it's from the mid 60's? This was my sweetest swap ever!!!

Definitely a B&S- you'll like this tuba.
On my Sonora, the S/N is on the mouthpiece receiver. I've also heard of the S/N on the valve paddle rack on some tubas. Yours is definitely older than mine, it has the S-link valve gear whereas mine has the newer uniball setup.
For those who haven't seen it, this thread includes a list of known B&S stencils:

It does look like an original lead pipe. It also swallowed my Helleberg mp, so I will be needing a euro shank mp.

Take a look at the About-paragraph. The name maybe is not coming entirely out of the blue.
