Antique tuba coffin case

I would like to build a wood "coffin case" for a Civil War era tuba. I want it to outwardly look like an original, but inside it will be well padded to protect the instrument, with a seperate compartment for a mouthpiece and various accouterments, and a place to store music. If anyone has an original tuba case of this style, please post some photos! Details of the joinery used, style of hardware and how the instrument rests inside would be very helpful. Thanks!

Cornet, not tuba.

French, not American.

Hi-
Not mine-FYI- the horns fit in sideways, and the 'coffin cases' are made of wood in trapezoid shape--either no padding, or 'straw' as padding, covered with red cloth (cloth is 'tacked'). They have a brass handle on top of the lid for carrying and the lid closes & fastens with two brass 'eyelets' and has two or three brass 'hinges' on the back to keep the lid and body 'together.'

Good luck!!
