...in the trunk of a BMW 5 series? I didn't take my tuba to the dealership. I'd imagine the answer is "yes," but curious if anyone has any first-hand experience with it.

Whoa there Mr. Buy USA - you couldn't find any car made by an American car company to fit your needs?
I mean if your going to shop abroad you might as well shop China with this cute broad.

Thanks Don (and the people who PM'ed me).
I don't try to be Mr. Buy USA. I try to not buy things made in China, when I have the option to make a choice. I have a choice about tubas, and exercise that choice. I have never owned an American tuba either, but only because no one here makes a rotary CC tuba. Yes, my computer is made in China, no choice there. i did look at American cars too, and liked several of them, i think they are solid options. Just personal preference to go with BMW.
In the end, I guess I gravitate towards German tubas, cars, beer, and women (yes, my wife's heritage is German).

The problem with the FOE feature of TubeNet is that those morons you have foed still show up in quotes from people you have not foed.

OH, I get it now... German tubas will fit in the trunk, Chinese ones won't. Got it!

So you're saying the TubeNet Clowns still catch a ride in Bort's new car thread?

My 1986 Grand Marquis could easily fit FOUR tubas in its trunk [plus the full-sized spare tire]:

Do you suppose this is what the mob used to mean when they said you were going to become "trunk music"

I took my 621 in a gig bag to a Lotus dealer when I tried out the new Elan (the
1991 version, not the earlier Elan) - It fit quite well in the trunk with room for an overnight bag as well!
Made going to gigs 200+ miles away quite fun

The first car I owned was a 1969 MGMidget and my 184 fit just fine in the passenger seat. I wish I still had the car. I do still have the tuba. We bought a Subaru Forester last fall to replace our Venture as I can lay down the horn in the back seat when 4 of us carpool to band. Two horns, a euphonium and my tuba, a PT-20, all fit.

I believe that one plays flat. It does look like someone tried to cut it - perhaps to bring it up to pitch - but I'm pretty sure it's still flat!
