Andris Nelsons has been named as the new Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra!!!

Yeah, my management said they wouldn't agree to my terms, so they went with someone else.

That's a good fit IMHO. What a grand orchestra (and especially grand brass section) and a tremendously talented and skilled conductor.
Also, I always enjoy seeing Latvian musicians getting work. My father was born in Riga, though I was born in Washington, DC. I've met several other Latvian-American professional musicians, but not another AL tuba player yet. Anyone else out there?

By the way, Andris is a brass player. He's a trumpeter!

Great appointment!
I played tuba on Andris Nelson's 1st CD recording with the City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) and he is dynamic!
