Mead Springs

I have been playing my B&S 22p with what I perceive to be the stock springs (they could be different as I am not the original owner of the horn), and have been struggling with the tension of the spring.
I ordered a set of Steven Mead lightweight tuba springs and popped them in. When they arrived, they came in packaging that listed them as euphonium springs. I was concerned I received the wrong product, but when I called to inquire about them I was told they are the same as the tuba springs.
Nevertheless... they are too mushy to push my pistons, and they are also too short and leave excessive valve bounce.
So- I already had a regular set of Mead springs in my euphonium so I swapped them out, leaving me with regular Mead springs (euphonium/tuba) in my E flat tuba, and now the lightweight Mead springs in my euphonium.
It is a vast improvement in my tuba, and I am mixed about how they lighter springs are in my euphonium- I wish there was a middle ground between the two (FWIW- Adams euphonium in case the pistons vary in weight from other manufacturers). The springs are the right length, I just need to play it some more to make sure they are moving fast enough (they are noticeably different than the regular strength Mead springs).

I also received some medium Yamaha springs from bloke (I ordered a set of his finger buttons which are AWESOME! Lighter weight, but even better is the lower vertical height of the valve cap) that are a close second to the Mead springs, and less then half the cost.
