I see a Parker Helleberg on Dave Houser's site and at http://www.parkermouthpieces.com" target="_blank. I'm wondering if anyone has tried one and might be able to answer some questions for me.

Ignoring the rim differences, I am wondering what the Parker Helleberg is similar to.

Is it possibly similar to a Sidey SSH or a Mike Finn MF3?

If neither of those, what is it similar to?

I now play on a Parker-Hitz Helleberg (it's the slightly larger version)... It's a relatively standard sized Helleberg cup... off the top of my head, I'd say that response and sound I'd say is along the lines of a Shilke Hb2, slightly darker than a Conn Helleberg. According to the specs, the Parker itself is just a tad smaller.

As to compare to the other makes, I'm not sure... but here are the specs from Mike Parker's website:

Parker Helleberg Cup
Bore Size (in) 0.330”
Bore Size (mm) 8.38mm
Cup Depth – Medium Deep

Parker–Hitz Helleberg Cup
Bore Size (in) 0.335”
Bore Size (mm) 8.50mm
Cup Depth- Medium Deep

Response is great, I have 2 backbores I use... the Hitz (which is huuuge - when I need to act like a BAT) and a "3" which is smaller and packs a bit more pop and punch, which is the one I've been using most of the time.

It's the most in-tune mouthpiece I've played on my 186CC in 21 years of playing that horn.
