"Festival Overture" Tuba Part

I am normally handed treble clef parts for the brass band I play in. Sometimes bass clef parts are available but most of the time I end up doing transpositions to bass clef myself. I can read treble clef but since I live in the bass clef World six days a week... I get along much better with bass clef music.
The latest such tune is "Festival Overture" by Shostakovich arranged for brass band by Michael Antrobus.
I've emailed a couple of firms that handle the piece to see if a bass clef part is available to buy. (I have no problem paying a fair price for music when it is available.) I'll probably end up doing the transposition myself. But... it will make my life A LOT easier if I can locate a bass clef part. Until I hear back from them... does anyone out there have a bass clef transposition they would care to share?

Still looking for a bass clef transposition before I create one.
I received word back from "Just Music" that they don't offer bass clef tuba parts for their stuff. That's sad. Surely in this modern World they are using notation software to do their engraving. It should be a very simply matter to make a few mouse clicks to create bass clef parts for us dumb-asses here in the US who refuse to move into the treble clef World for the sake of one night a week!
After all... most of OUR publishers (here in the US) offer World Parts. Why can't The Brits do the same?
Sometimes tradition just sucks! GRRRRR

Hey Dan,
I just played this arrangement with the Penn View Brass Band here in PA. My Eb part as well as all of the other parts looked almost like manuscript as opposed to "engraved" parts like from Sibelius or Finale. They were actually challenging to read. I didn't re-do my part because I wanted to force myself to get better at the treble clef. The parts have been collected. I can get the tuba parts from our director when he returns from vacation. I have Sibelius and would be happy to make you a part but it might be a while. Incidentally there were also some note mistakes in several of the parts.
Pete

Doesn't seem Just, does it?

I guess that the publisher thinks that "British style" brass band will want to use British style music, that said, Just Music do sell wind band music, and they might have a bass clef tuba part in that catalogue

Thanks for the offer, Pete. Were due back in rehearsal on Wednesday, August 14th. If I don't turn up a transcription by around the 11th... I'll start doing it myself.

You could try reading from the Eb part if both parts are similar making note of anywhere the Bb part is an octave lower.

The Eb and Bb parts are quite different.
I already have the first 100 measured done, anyway. It won't take long to change it to bass clef. I could have just scanned it in to Finale except the engraving is 'fake manuscript' and doesn't scan very well.
'Just Music' does offer wind band charts but this particular chart is transcribed for brass band and they don't have a bass clef tuba part.

I don't really think that that is the case. I have bought music form various countries, including the UK, the USA, Switzerland and EU countries, some publishers offer the parts in all clefs and transpositions and some don't, including the trumpet parts in C, D, Eb and Bb, trombone parts in Bass and Tenor and transposed Treble clef and so on.
the historical reasons for the tuba parts being transposed into treble clef have been exhaustively discussed elsewhere, and it is becoming increasingly the case that EEB and BBb tubas play different parts in a piece.
It may be an issue for the arrangers and composers to address rather than the publishers.

As I mentioned before... this is a modern World. No one hand engraves notation anymore. A few mouse clicks will produce virtually any part that is requested.
It seems to me that the publishers, composers, AND the arrangers would want their music to be purchased by as broad a group as possible. Digital 'print on demand' is good.
This is just an exercise in time for me that I can live without. However... I already have the first 100 or so measures of "Festival Overture" entered into my Finale. Is this a copyright violation?

Your quoting is incorrect. You've reversed them and attributed your words to me. I've corrected them above.

schmefs, it's all just dots to me."

sorry about that, I don't quite know how that happened, and I certainly didn't intend to misattribute any words
