depending on how old the felts are they may need replacing.... they will have moisture from the horn nor mally, but shouldnt make it "clink". They do make synthetic ones, but every manufacturer is diferent and the most important thing is that they fot your valves and give you proper clearence. So be careful to just replace them without checking. happy playing
