I'm looking for some info on the Meinl-Weston model 20 BBb tuba. How does it compare to the model 25? Is it still in production? I didn't see it mentioned on the MW web site.

I dont know about a model 20....I know they have a Model 18 that is a smaller version of the 25 which is a very very nice little horn if you are looking for something light and compact ?

I don't know if the model 20 is still in production, but I played one more than 30 years ago in high school. It is smaller than a model 25, with a more compact tubing wrap. It was larger than the model 18 that is currently in production. I never really cared for the model 20 that I played, but it was so long ago that I can't really give you specifics. I do remember thinking that it felt stuffy compared to the 3 valve compensating Besson that it replaced.

The model 20 has a somewhat narrower bell stack that the 25 (16.5" vs. 17.5") and is a little less stuffy and more flexible. It has a reasonably dark sound and easy high and low ranges. The ones I've played have been pretty good horns. I believe that Dillon's has one on their web site currently.
