Hey Guys,

I just polished this baby up, and I think it looks pretty good for 100+ years old! (I should look that good, NOW!)
The serial number is 98XX. Lars Kirmser's site indicates it could be as old as 1897, and as young as 1904. Either way, it's pretty old!
The pitch is good, and it has a pretty mellow euphonium sound, so there is a stark contrast between the two bells tones.

It has a screw assembly on the back, based on the same idea used to secure the neckpiece on a sousaphone.

That is the way I received it. I'll see if it flips, but I don't think it fits that way. Do you know of a picture detailing the original configuration?

Date should be right around 1904 based on a presentation instrument dated 1903 with the serial number 8497.

Can you tell me more about that?
