I am looking to experiment with drones during my warmups and I am looking for comments from anyone who has experience with apps for iPhone or iPad.

So far I am looking at Droneo and Srutibox. They both appear to be quite configurable but I am looking for advice before I spend any money on it.

Thanks for your comments.

Very configurable drones, plus recording, a metronome, more or less everything you need. It's just for the iPad, though. Too much stuff for the iPhone screen size.

There's an app for the iPhone called Scale Master. It's a drone app that lets you configure any interval you want and plays a drone for as long as you want. I believe the app is free too. Not 100% sure. I use it sometimes whenever I'm working on intonation. Very easy to use as well.

I've had moderate success with Cleartune: the tuner can generate tones, and has multiple temperments... But, I've been using that for 5 or so years, there may be newer / better stuff out there.

Wow. Three helpful comments and no snarky pictures of military ROVs. :D Starting the think i posted on the wrong board.

I own cleartune but did not realize that it had a generator. Will check that out. I finally gave up cleartune for iStroboSoft as a tuner option.

Thanks guys!

Cleartune:
1. Choose temperment
2. Click on the 4 bar icon that is supposed to look like pitch pipes (mid right)
3. hit the "power button" in the middle
4. rotate the pitch wheel to the desired pitch.

Optional - choose octave
- hit the unlock in the center of the pitch wheel and bend.
