Drill of the Week #7, "Yodeling"

Hey guys and gals, sorry it's taken sooooo long...but, I thnk I'm back. Just posted a new "Drill of the Week". Thanks for all of the numerous requests and words of encouragement about doing these. I had no idea how many people liked these. I've got tentative plans to turn these into downloadable .pdf files that will be attached to each respective video. However, I have to get a website up and running that will host the download files, etc etc.

I've resigned myself to recording these on my iPad and keeping it decidedly low-tech. That's how I roll...complete computer moron...I apologize for the recording quality but I think I've figured out how to keep both the voice volume and tuba volume at similar levels to accommodate cheap speakers. Anyway, you'll have to forgive the lack of production quality. That's how it'll be until I find a easier recording setup that requires no intelligence to use and edit.

Hope you like it, hope it helps and please pass the word along if you know anyone that's been waiting for more drills. I've no idea how to spread the word other than this way. Thanks again and best regards.

Thanks for these! It's so great for students and other professionals to hear what someone who has won a job is still doing to better themselves.

I have DOW's #1-6 written out, which I dictated for myself in finale if you'd like a PDF of them at pitch written out for tuba. I will only make this available to others with Mr. Olka's consent, as it seems he is setting this stuff up anyway. It is nice for younger players who might not be able to follow by ear to have the exercises written down to read off of.

Looking forward to more...

This is my fav as I do something very similar. I have found that when your out of shape that these are the best to do to get back in quickly. After about a week of working the flex exercises you fell like you can play anything. I like the spin that you make on this and will add them to what I do. Great drill.
