I've a student with short arms, found the DEG extender. It may work. Didn't there used to be a wooden paddle one?

Back in grade school, we used to use a shoestring. Cheap, simple and effective.

, its supposed to work because your arms are longer at an angle then straight forward.
It works great for the arms..............but how well does it work for the embouchure?

I know from experience that will work, but you better have your music memorized.

Then why not use a
Davis Shuman angled trombone?
A good solution instead of the DEG extension is for example the Yamaha YSL-350C compact C trombone with Bb valve and short six positions slide (that plays very well), or one of the Chinese copies (that also plays very well...);-)

Or if you can try this horn:

Or get an f-attachment so you do not have to go beyond 5th position.

Not with the Shuman trbn. You stare straight but slide right.
Another solution, go the Norwegian way starting with an alto.
