"Old Legend"

I fell in love with a hauntingly beautiful tuba quartet piece - Etienne Crausaz's "Old Legend":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPQdXN7wZcM" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

I then excitedly strong-armed a few people to work it up with me and ordered parts from SheetMusicPlus.com (the only US based site I could find it on, the other was in Switzerland)
BUT Unfortunately, the composer is also in Switzerland and apparently Sheet Music Plus has to send a triathlete bicycle messenger to his house and then have the parts swim back via seagoing carrier turtle (6-8 weeks).

Thought I might even beg the composer himself for a pdf, but I can't even find him on anything other than a silly abandoned myspace page and references to him on other people's sites.

I can prove purchase,
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0VKT4H ... p=drivesdk
but does anybody maybe have it in pdf?

If not, even info on how to contact the composer directly would be helpful.

Thanks!

http://www.thompsonedition.com

is the place to go for hard to get brass related music.

David Thompson is an American playing solo horn in the Barcelona symph. His edition has offices on both sides of the Atlantic.

Good info for the future - Thanks! I've already purchased this piece though. I'm just hoping to get the parts quicker than 2 months from now. Nobody had it available with any reasonable shipping times or electronic delivery. Can't wait til everybody does that. I hate waiting for mail ;0)

It is well worth the wait. Our quartet (Triangle Tuba Quartet) ordered it and it took a good long time to arrive. Since then we have greatly enjoyed rehearsing and performing it.

Here is a link to one of the euph players in the quartet's website with contact info for the quartet towards the bottom of the page(the composer plays in the quartet).

Hope that helps.

Took a few emails but that info started me in the right direction, and I was able to connect with the composer. Happy camper!

Thanks!
