Isn't the standard response to all questions like this: "Call Rudy Jr."?
I can't help you on the taper, but when I had my horn (early 80s vintage) in to Lee a couple years back (for red rot that turned out to not be red rot), he told me that:
-The new leadpipes are red brass now.
-They take a bit of bending to fit older horns in most cases.
