B&S F Tuba SN Question

I have an older PT8 model that deosn't say symphony or Peruntucci on it. It does say made in Germany on the leadpipe with a sn number of 0193006. The bell reads B&S with some German writing then underneath, has the letters C.M.C. and under that says Made in GDR, GDR is spelled out. Bore is 17mm to 21mm with each valve graduating. Also, there is no garland on the bell. Lastly, the horn has a fixed leadpipe as well as a flat whole step 5th.
My horn looks like this just not as nice.

Is there a way to date these horns prior to the Perantucci period?
Thanks
Tom

call Custom. My suspicion is c.1978-79 but far from certain.

The GDR existed between 1949 and 1990. Bloke's B&S F tuba has a lower serial number than yours and is from 1982.
Your tuba sounds similar to the one Norm Pearson used to post about in that it (1) has a Symphonie bore profile, (2) doesn't say Symphonie on it, and (3) no bell garland. Looks like Mr Pearson sold it. His was from 1989-90.
Here's a link to the for sale ad, it even has pictures for comparison:

IMHO, based on what you posted about it, your tuba was made close to 1990.
hope this helps,
Christian

What does the "German writing" say? That might not directly tell the age, but could be something they only did during certain years.

As I remember, the older ones had a "kranz" on the bell flare. As I cannot see one on yours, I would also guess ~1990.
I have no information on when mine was made (Symphonie BBb, B&S CC and Symphonie F), but they all have a kranz.
