Hindemith, possible wrong note

This was pointed out to me by a friend of mine. Hindemith Sonata, Second Movement, Downbeat of the Second bar of [A], the top voice in the piano part. It is a C, however the piano is basically restating the primary theme of the movement though if that were the case it should/would be a Bflat. Thoughts?

Hindemith probably had some other-worldly reason for this that we'll never understand...I say he's probably right. He was a true genius!

The one person I know who knows that piece better than anyone alive is Barbara Young, spouse of Jerry Young at Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I don't have contact information for either of them, offhand, but a web search would be easy to do, and ITEA should have Jerry's contact info also.

Jerry's email is j y o u n g (a t) u w e c . e d u (obviously take out the spaces, etc.).
