Hey folks, I've got a very early Yamaha 621 F tuba and I'm wondering if its handmade. I've heard that some of the early ones were. Its serial number is 100006.

Thanks!

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know. Do you know how many other handmade 621s were made? Is there any way to tell?

I've heard that the first 150 or so were, but can't remember where I heard that. I've also heard that a lack of engraving on the bell is an indication of this. Mine is in the 100-110 range, and does not have engraving on the bell.

I always thought the older Yamahas just didn't have bell engravings. I used to have a Yamaha 321 euphonium from the late 60s - early 70s that also didn't have the logo on the bell.
