Tuba or drum? This is a project that's been nearly a year in the making, and I'm excited to finally release it in its final form. Ladies and gents, I present you with "The Percussive Tuba". Disclaimer: No tubas were harmed in the making of this video.
I know it's not the most conventional thing, but, hey, tuba players aren't the most conventional people. Enjoy!

What was the application you used for the recording and mixing?

From the video narrative:
"Published on Jan 24, 2014
Challenge: Find a way to blend my love for tuba with my love for electronic production. Subsequent challenge: Create a house-style dance track composed solely of sounds made when striking my tuba.
After 6 months of brainstorming and tinkering, what began as a bout of fleeting creativity has finally been fully realized. I recorded myself striking my tuba at different places with different objects around the house (pencils, metal rods, my hands, etc.), imported the recordings into Ableton Live, clipped them, and made samples out of them. I, then, arranged them to create this track. I hope you enjoy listening to this track as much as I enjoyed making it.
Recorded on a Tascam DR-07 handheld digital recorder.
Creativity is the mother of invention. Don't worry, no tubas were harmed in the making of this video.
Techniques used:
Striking the mouthpiece with pencil
Striking the mouthpiece with plastic embouchure visualizer
Striking bell with the palm of my hand
"Popping" the mouthpiece while in the lead pipe while depressing keys to change pitch
Striking the tuba with plastic embouchure visualizer
Striking the tuba with pencil
Striking bell with knuckles, with the DR-07 inside the bell
Slapping the bell with the fingers"

Yes, but that does not tell what sequencer or composition software was used. I have not seen that sort of graphic representation before.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the comments. Like I said in the description, my DAW (digital audio workstation) of choice is Ableton Live. It was used for every step of the production: importing the samples, cropping them, arranging them, manipulating them, and mixing/mastering the track as a whole.

Ah!
I thought Ableton was where you recorded it, live.
(Not really, but I was misreading it on a moving bus on my phone.)
Thx.
