Hey guys! Feels good to be posting agean! So first off i bought my first horn(a 4 valve Bb deprinc) and it helped make the choose that I will be majoring in music. So after talking it over with my parents they agreed to buy my 5v c(hopefully a Conn 54j) so I said I would pay for my f horn. Now to present day, my highschool has a solo concert towards the beginning of may and I really want to perform 2 pieces that are on the higher side so I figured I might as well buy my f now right ? So while on YouTube I found out about this company called Wessex. Now before you leave hear me out. I was looking at the Wessex Brahms f tuba (
http://www.wessex-tubas.com/f-tuba-brahms/" target="_blank ) and i just need some honest options on this horn. I'm mainly concerned with the tuning
let me know what you think
Thanks guys!

If you look around this discussion board, you'll find that others here also have found out about this company, especially the user called Neptune, who found out about it first, or founded it, or owns, it, or something like that. A couple of people here rage about it, often for political reasons. Those of us who have dealt with this company, without exception as far as I know, think well of them/him/it. As far as whether this particular instrument would suit your needs, you're nearly on your own about that, because it's newish, but the search function will help you find pretty much everything that is known about it around here.

Is the silver one smaller than the lacquer one? It appears to be shorter in the picture.

confirmation that plating affects the sound and they needed to make it shorter to compensate. I knew it.
You may resume the silver vs lacquer debate...

You are not funny. You have no idea of my level of understanding or knowledge related to any of these topics or this field. You just felt the need to make a knee jerk response in an attempt at humor. My question was a serious one, wondering if there are indeed two different models of F tuba sold by this company.
Your response is a perfect example of why Schlep locks threads.

While they look very different to me, the proprietor says that it's camera angle.

Thank you. I was not aware of that thread.
