The 482 played ok
Remember most of jupiters stuff sucks and the valves will warp after a few years
Don't get the 582 it's so out of tune !

Actually I owned a very nice Jupiter trumpet some time back. Build quality was stellar, the valves were great, and the horn sounded really, really good. I've not owned any of their low brass.

How many different 582 and 482 tubas have you played? Have you been able to play them against a tuner in a relatively open space? Have you been able to play several of one model during a play-test?
What "stuff" of Jupiter doesn't "suck"?
I have played 2 582s both from the university even the newer one was bad
I spent 4 months with one constantly in the practice rooms2-3 hours a day4 days a week because my professor wanted every note in tune
And ice played the 482 at namm With a tuner and it was more in tune than the 582
