Miraphone 184 Mouthpiece
What do you guys use? Gonna get one of these tubas!

I had the best results with a Mirafone C3 or C4. G&W Diablo worked well too.

Yes this was true, I had a receiver made that better accommodated modern mouthpieces. My 184 was from the '60s.bloke wrote:yes.
A C4 works well, regarding the cup/throat/back-bore on a 184...

- You have to like the wide/round Miraphone rim.
- They tend to hang way out of the receivers of many 184 tubas. You have to like that as well.

I have a C4 but have never been able to get used to it. I use a Wick 3L on my 184.
Gnagey CC, VMI Neptune 4098 CC, Mirafone 184-5U CC and 56 Bb, Besson 983 EEb and euphonium, King marching baritone, Alexander 163 BBb, Conn 71H/112H bass trombone, Olds Recording tenor trombone.
