Blokepiece survey

So I've saved up a little money and have decided that I want to give a Blokepiece a test drive. I thought it would be interesting to see what combinations of rim/cup/shank that everyone is using. If you have a Sellmansberger mouthpiece, would you mind sharing?

-Rim
-Cup
-Shank
-Horn that you are using it on

I'm using a Solo #1 standard shank with a #2 med-narrow H-Kote rim on my 2250 F, loving the sound and the extraordinary comfortable rim.

Why not tell us what horn you are playing and what you want to achieve that is different from what you are getting? I have all of his mouthpieces and use them on different horns to achieve the results I like.

Just trying to narrow down the results.

Hey Roger, we spoke by email a couple of weeks ago. I'm playing on a Miraphone 1291 BBb. I think I know what combination I want; this was just more of a exercise in curiosity. My biggest decision is what size rim to get. I'm leaning more toward the 33.2mm. What are you using on your 1291?

Symphony Am symph (3 sizes) & Orch garand shank, C4LA/M-W rim.

Solo Am '0', '2' shank & Br. '0' shank C4LA/M-W rim

Most combo in use is Symph. std. Am shank with 32.6 rim...Love it

There is more than one style of rim offered with that opening.

I know. I was just stating that I think I have the style picked out (#2 rim) but I'm trying to decide on the size of it.

Bloke, I do have a questions about the H-Kote. I am a "dry" player. I don't like sliding around on the rim while a play. Will the H-Kote help or hurt that aspect?

Your experience may differ, but I can definitely tell the difference between the H-More and the standard stainless rims. In my experience, the standard is as slick as it gets. The H-Kote feels like s brand-new gold mouthpiece rim (for the months I've had it, still feels like new!).

On my 1291 BBb I use the Symphony model with the standard 33 mm #2 rim. It works very well for me.

Thanks, Roger. I placed my order Sunday night. I got the same set-up as you, though I did get the H-Kote rim. I'm very excited to get it!
