Today is one of those days - in client's office on the weekend so as not to disrupt their work while upgrading PC O/S's. That means also a lot of time waiting for installation, data transfer and the like.
So I brought my tornister along to use that dead time for some woodshedding - a perfect use for it.

What is this contraption by the lead pipe? A sousaphone tuning bit?

Yes - actually one of the tuning bits from my J.W. Pepper Eb Helicon. Brings it down to pitch and makes for better playing positions.
