Son of one of the guys in my quartet bought one. It had some intonation quirks, but it sure was inexpensive. I'd say it was 25% of the price for 80-85% of the quality of the most popular premium brands.

That's pretty much how Matt described it to me.
I bought a 1095 (the 3+1 non-comper) a few years back from him for a use-while-teaching horn and it's pretty darned amazing for the money. It sounds quite nice, is pretty well-built (I was worried about the valves but have had no trouble after breaking them in) and it's ergonomically very comfy.
The intonation is good but you need to find the right mouthpiece; I really liked the tone of the Wick SM4U in it but it made the 3rd space Eb impossibly flat for some reason. No trouble with a 51D.
I know I'm talking about a different model but it's the same maker so your experience with the 2495 may be similar.
