Would you want one of these stands considering what it did to the tuba in the foreground?

I have one of these very stands collecting 25+ years of dust in the attic. They are rather large and cumbersome; however, if you want something to hold you horn in place, even when not playing, this is the beast to use.
My use was when playing in pit orchestras where I played both elec. bass and tuba; sometimes the switch from one to the other was only a bar or so. Kept the bass strapped on, and the horn was right there -- ready to play.
