Tuba cake!

Post by oldpatterns »

I haven't seen too many images of tuba cakes out there. I had this one made for my son's Bar Mitzvah last week by http://www.cakesbymj.com/" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank The artist's name is Mary Jo Dowling. It was a chocolate cake with fondant with a orange flavor. It looked great and tasted great! She took lots of pictures of my son's tuba to design it. What is under the tuba is a fondant version of his tallit that had the bass clef on it. For a larger image look at: http://imgur.com/HT6Sx59" target="_blank

Wow, that's impressive, so detailed!

Here's mine -- I got married right around my birthday, so as a birthday present/surprise for our rehearsal dinner, my wife hired someone to make a special tuba cake for the occasion. Here's a photo of it from the baker's Web site.

I saw your cake when I was searching for images of tuba cakes. I think in my research, I only found 2 pictures online of tuba cakes. One of them was your tuba standing on it's bell and another was a grooms cake of a half tuba. There just aren't too many of them out there - so I thought I'd share the image with you folks. His tallit also had tubas on it. :)

It looks just like the tuba I picked up from a local high school.
