URGENT - horn problems with Kalison DS

Hello all!

So I'm in a serious horn problem. I'm playing in the competitions at ITEC next week, and have come across a serious problem with my instrument. I play a Kalison DS, which has a valve-set which is connected to the horn with 4 screws located along the bell and outside bow. Each screw has a circular rubber guard that stops vibrations in each screw hold.

After several years of using the guards, I've run out. One of the guards has torn and came off. my horn rattles quite loudly when I play in the middle range.

Any suggestions on how to fix it? Can you buy rubber guards at any hardware store? I'm freaking out right now, and any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

No idea what you have there, but if it's convenient to visit the hardware store, they'll have a better idea what they have, than we do. Take a screw along (check first to see how far it needs to go in.) If not, you could probably jury-rig a temporary replacement with a small rubber band or something.

Plumbers tape or electrical tape? Of not for anything functional, and just to stop a buzz, tape it up with a low-residue tape until you can get it fixed properly.

Thanks for the help, everyone! I'll probably head to local hardware store and find a solution there. If nothing turns up, I'll go to the local repair guru.

If I haven't solved the problem by this weekend and someone in Bloomington is available to help, let me know. It would be greatly appreciated!

Crisis averted! I went to ACE today and bought some O-rings that fit the screw.

Thanks for the help everybody! I hope to see some of you in Bloomington next week.
