This is the same trombonist who at age 12 gave a beautiful performance of the Tomasi Concerto. I look forward to listening to him!

The LSO isn't afraid to take on a young player in a principal position. Philip Cobb, the current principal trumpet, was appointed at 21, to a chair that is arguably more prominent than the principal trombone.

On the other hand, 18 really is very young, even in comparison to 21.

Had the pleasure of accompaning this young man at a brass band workshop last summer in saskatoon saskatchewan canada. He is an amazing player. He is the real deal. The highlight for me was at the final concert when the brass band stood up to sing a hymn tune while the soloist stood in the middle of a hundred year old church and played the melody. Very moving.
