Hi.
Who is their tuba player? I just saw a shot of the orchestra and it looks like a BAT (to me). What is it?

That's Chris Olka playing a Yamayork. He posts "Drills of the day" on here from time to time. We used to play together at The Rat here in Florida when he was still at college. It's great to see a good friend score a big job like that.Ed

Chris Olka is one of the best orchestral tuba players in the world. In addition to the Seattle Symphony and the Seattle Opera, Chris has played with the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Cincinnati Symphony and the Saito Kinen Orchestra in Japan with Seiji Ozawa. He teaches tuba at the University of Washington. He is a Yamaha Performing Artist and owns two (yes two) YamaYorks. He has played on multiple movie and game soundtracks and lots of recordings of the Seattle Symphony. There is a Cincinnati Symphony recording of Prokofiev 5 with Chris playing tuba that is one of my references for how to play this part.

Would LOVE to find this CD. Can you point me in the right direction? What year and what conductor? Thanks!
