Attaching googly eyes to a sousa

So this is a fairly random question. I am looking for a way to attach googly eyes to my sousa bell in a way that won't hurt the lacquer, is easily removable and won't permanently alter the horn. I do a lot of busking with a brass band and this would fit in well with the humour of the band as well as hopefully make us more money.
Cheers,
Josh

I've seen sousaphones with a net cover on the bell (to stop people throwing stuff in there). Could you attach eyes to the net ?

How about 3M Command Strips?

All excellent ideas. I'm trying out the 3m strips simply because I had them on hand. They are being tested on the small patch of lacquer left on my Bach 6 trombone since it doesn't matter if it strips the small remaining lacquer off that horn. I will report back on my findings.

Christopher Walken should be able to help you out with this.

I would go for the net.
If you order 5,000 or more from this site, you can get a color other than white:

Or, this has eyes:

I'll buy the rubber cement suggestion. It will simply roll off when you are finished with that look and is unlikely to attack lacquer.
If your horn is old enough to be actually covered with lacquer (as opposed to the modern catalyzed/baked on stuff) I would steer clear of contact cement. Toluene and acetone absolutely will attack real (nitrocellulose) lacquer.

Simply trying to save some vintage horn's finish.
Virtually every hardware store that I've been in over the last 50+ years, when asked for "contact cement" will supply Weldwood brand contact cement. The stuff they use to bond Formica (brand of HPL) to countertops. Acetone and toluene are about the only things that will touch it. And it will be exceedingly difficult to remove from anything without such solvents.

How about fixing the eyes to a magnet and putting another magnet behind it on the back of the bell? A bit of felt on the magnets will reduce the risk of scratching the lacquer. Totally removable and replaceable.

Could just use one magnet for each eye, put a piece of sheet steel on the back surface of the eye (with some felt - good idea.) There are amazingly strong little magnets available these days:
http://www.kjmagnetics.com/ is one place to get them.

Sorry for the delay but it's been really busy playing wise lately. So I made them out of felt and binder clips and glued the large patch of felt to the back of the eyes. Works really well and is super easy to adjust or remove.
