In the same vein as Curmudgeon's prior posts: What's your favorite John Fletcher recording?
My personal favorites are any of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble recordings, Alexander Nevsky - Abbado, Prokofiev 5 - Previn, Vaughan Williams 2 - Previn, Vaughan Williams tuba concerto - Previn

My favorite recording(s) is the Star Wars soundtracks with LSO. It was a breathtaking surprise to be sitting in a theater and hear a tuba solo during a movie. That score was a revelation to a generation of composers who followed and what a revelation Fletcher was to American tubists at that time.

Here are 2 of my favorites:

2.
Mr.Fletcher's arrangement of Tchaikovsky "Sleeping Beauty Waltz " for 4 tubas, all played by himself. Available on the Philip Jones Album called Divertimento. I think it was done because the studio needed something to fill out an album.

My favorite is the Phillip Jones Brass Ensemble's recording of the "Earl Of Oxford's March." Mr. Fletcher's superb sound and finger technique shine through. I also love his Vaughn-Williams, "Concerto for Bass Tuba" with the LSO. I also offer this video of "Flight of the Bumble Bee".

I second the Vaughan Williams. I would love to have that kind of sound and control (working on it).

Although I've heard many others, I still prefer Fletcher's recording of the RVW concerto.
