muczynski's impromptus tempo question

The fourth movement of the piece is marked eighth note equals 160. I've been working on the piece for a while now and I'm not convinced that is the correct marking. Anyone know if this a misprint or have any other insight that I might not know about?

For a nice waltz-y tempo, try eighth = 200 -215 works for me.

It is marked sostenuto, though. If he wanted a very slow, introspective mood, the indicated tempo might be OK. It can be effective as a porgy-n-bess Summertime rendition. Bluesy. I like that, too.

Experiment. Play it the way YOU feel it. Sell it to your audience. (They don't care what the marking says)

I've been misreading the marking as quarter=160, which is dramatically different than the ink. I like it faster becasue of the movements that surround it. MOFWIW
