Does that tenon fit well in its socket? I think he's saying, repairman would need the connecting part if you want that fixed.

Actually... it looks like someone already tried to repair it by simply bending the neck back up and filling the void with solder.

If the tenon fits the receiver... everything can be taken apart, dents removed, and put back together. It should still fit your horn.

The "damage" on that gooseneck looks very minor. Hardly even noticeable. And I bet that even if you got it completely 'ironed out' it would not change the way it plays; would just look slightly better up-close. I don't think it would be worth getting overhauled -- the damage is not that bad. Wait until you get some more dents in it before getting it overhauled/refurbished :P
