I'm looking for a flute/Tuba duet written for high school level.
I just married a flutist and our community band director thinks it would be fun for us to do a duet.
I checked on JW Pepper and Sheet Music.com and cant find any in print.
Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks

The Whistler And His Dog, by Arthur Pryor, arr. Ronald C. Knoener.

For piccolo and tuba, but flute could substitute for piccolo.

Good arrangement.

You can easily make a duet out of the Billboard March.

The Telemann flute sonatas sound good with tuba reading the bottom line of the piano parts. Bach two-part inventions also work that way.

It was written by Quinto Maganini. I checked The Tuba Source bok and it was published by Editions Musicus.

Another recommendation for the Bach Two-Part Inventions. I recall doing them with a flute-playing friend in high school.

You can also do any of the baroque flute pieces if you play the basso continuo line and let the flutist play the flute part. Harvey Phillips did this on one recording as I recall. I think he did one of the Bach flute sonatas

I decided to go find the recording of Harvey doing flute and tuba pieces. It is Harvey Phillips in Recital For Family and Friends on Golden Crest RE-7054. He performs the Walter Hartley Suite for Tuba and Flute, Bach Two Part Invention #1, and parts of the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Sonata for Flute by Handel. The flutist is Andrew Lolya, of the NY City Ballet Orchestra.
The balance of the recording is all the Alec Wilder Suites. It is an excellent recording and probably out of print but I understand the surviving family of the owner of Golden Crest has a lot of the old tapes. I wish they would make the items available on ITunes.
