Don't forget the tromba jazzbone and their plastic trumpet.
The closest I've seen to a ptuba would be a Yamaha 105 stencil where the bottom bow and bell were fiberglass. The guy at the booth said it would be 500 dollars with a hard case included.

Hi-
It does surprise me that with fiberglass sousaphones & marching tubas being made, no one has thought of a fiberglass upright tuba being made.....

Hi-
Where I was going with this was a fiberglass or 'pTuba' being made with a cost being very minimal, that played good, and was very lightweight. If the pBone and pTrumpet are selling new for under $200, might a 4v BBb & CC 'pTuba' or fiberglass tuba be under $1,000?.....

I own a pbone. I thought that with not needing valves how bad could it be? Well....it can be made to sound pretty much like a trombone, but it's a lot of work. And I cannot get the pedal up to pitch no matter what I do. I would have thought that if the inner dimensions were copied properly it would play in tune. I guess they did not copy the inner dimensions properly. Now, it is playable for something like roving around at Christmas playing carols outside for people (which is what I bought it for) and it's great to give your kid who hasn't yet learned where the end of the slide is in 7th position. But I shudder to think of what a valved example of a p-brass would be.

There was a prototype black plastic tuba at Frankfurt Musikmesse this year. It played awful - the Chinese factory seller said due to leakages as a result of damage in shipping from China. I was not tempted for Wessex Tubas to stock!

Will await with interest to see if improved version is at Frankfurt next year...
