Geib comparison

I think this has been discussed before , but I can't seem to find it.
How do different Geib mouthpiece models compare to each other? (Stofer, Kanstul, Schilke, ...) Which version do you like the best, and why? I am currently trying a Stofer Geib on my Rudy Meinl, and I like it a lot...except it is the wrong shank size. This got.me to thinking how the Geib models, in general, compare to each other.
Thanks!

The "Stofer" or, really, Kelly is pretty close to the Conn Geibs I've played, including the one I personally own.
The Kanstul is the closest for me and I have posted that really like them. I use them quite a bit.
However, the Blokepiece Symphony is a very good Geib-style cup mpc and I would definitely try one on your Rudy. I bet it would be an excellent match.

Thanks guys!
I just spent some time looking at old posts, apparently I posted about this stuff like 1.5 years ago. I had decided to buy a Kanstul Geib, but never got around to it. I emailed Jim New this afternoon, so we'll see what happens.

Kanstul Geib showed up at my door this evening, but too late to play it today. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow!

Kanstul Geib? Is that a custom model that is not advertised on the web site?

Yes... people have talked about them from time to time here. It was extremely easy to order... I called the main Kanstul number and asked for Jim New. I told him what I wanted, and he said he had some sitting around and would get one right out to me. 2 days later, here it is! And even if one wasn't already in stock, it would have only been 2 weeks or so.

I honked around on it for a bit this afternoon, and I think it's a really nice mouthpiece, and it works well with my tuba. Great response and full and clear sound. A bit "rounder" sounding than some other mouthpieces I have. That's about all I can say for now, I really can't tell if I like it more or less than any of the other mouthpieces I have right now, but I will certainly put it through its paces to find out!
Funny enough, even though I like a number of mouthpieces in my tuba, my RM-1 (old, worn, "West Germany") still comes through as my favorite. Just wish the diameter was a *little* larger.

Well... that's certainly an option I may consider later on, however for now, I think I need to allow myself to adjust to my tools, instead of constantly changing my tools.
That said... I've spent a few more hours with the Kanstul Geib, and WHOA, this thing is great. It helps me sound much better than I think I am, and does so with less effort than other pieces. It's a winner for sure. Not sure if it's *the* winner, but it's certainly *a* winner! Thanks for the suggestion!

Curious myself, particularly if one plays a little "tighter" than the other; on my big horn that can be beneficial.
