Congrats to the Goldman Band

Post by JayW »

Had the chance to hear the Goldman Band last evening at the NJMEA convention. It was a really great performance filled with wonderful music and a real history lesson. To anyone who has not heard them, do so. If you do not know the bands history, find out. I never knew so many pieces we all take for granted were in fact written specifically for this band.

Also Congrats are in order to Scott Mendoker for his solo performace as well as the incredible sound he made throughout the entire concert.

I heard them earlier in the day at the CBDNA at Lincoln Center. Great group and sound!!

Pardon the plug:

They premiered a new work for concert band that will be published by Cimarron Music in a week or so by Michael Valenti (I just need to finish up editing the parts). It is called the Festival March. A really nice chart with a challenging part for the Horn players!

end of plug

If you they are around, I would go and hear a concert!
