Just one month until the Suffolk County (NY) Music Educators Association's 34th Annual Howard Hovey Day of Tuba and Euphonium on Friday, Nov. 14.

This year’s guest artist is Dr. Aaron Tindall of Ithaca College.

300 High School, Middle School and Elementary School participants are expected, plus plenty of teachers, professionals and casual adult players.

Rehearsals and clinics begin at 3:30 pm.

The free concert begins 7:30 pm featuring the Sunnyland Jazz Quartet with Bob Barta, John Klumpp, Art Hovey and Bob Hovey http://sunnylandjazz.com/, Aaron Tindall in recitalhttp://faculty.ithaca.edu/atindall/, Long Island Tuba Quartet with Michael Canipe, Don Sherman, Jeff Furman, Zach deVries plus Tim Eckstrum http://longislandtubaquartet.com/, the High School All-Star Ensemble, a Faculty Ensemble and the Massed Ensemble Finale.

Matt Walters will be there from Dillon with a display, and the famous door prize raffle will feature all kinds of amazing merchandise.

At Nesaquake Middle School in Smithtown, NY.

Don,
Great post. So many people post something like this and don't put in the who, what, where, when, and a little why. Looking forward to being there for another year.
Anybody that is going to be there and is wishing to save shipping costs and/or $20 in tolls plus the 2 hours of driving time, just email to: Matt at dillonmusic.com and let me know what I can bring for you to try and buy. Remember we pack up when the big concert starts because we don't want to interfere with the concert and when it is over, families all want to get home to start the weekend.
I can only bring 4-6 tubas to this show so if you or a student have a particular tuba in mind, let me know.
