Whatever happened to...

...the Hirsbrunner 288 F tuba (smaller bore, rotary)? I remember playing one in the mid-80's (I was very young then...like, um...2) that was one of the sweetest, richest sounding F tubas I've ever played. Granted, it could be the fact that a little time has passed in between then and now, but my memory tells me it was also just really fun to play. I saw a few others around at that time, here and there, but haven't seen one since then, I don't think. It dawned on me that of all the horns I've seen for sale here on tubenet, I don't think, in the last 10 years, I've ever seen one of those for sale.
Is it because there simply weren't very many made, and the owners have all held on to them, or have they dissolved into thin air, or...???
I'm curious to know if anyone here has one now, or has in the past, and, if you had one once, do you know where it is now?
Just a passing, wandering thought.
