Whoa! That is clean articulation. I didn't hear a single clam or out-of-tune note. Good tuba sound. Thanks for posting.

Gronitz? (I'm not one who can identify many F tubas by sight.)
Gronitz have curved valve blocks. This has the 1st offset and 2-3-4 straight. Probably a M-W.

His teacher being Hans Nickel gives me an extra reason to think that he is playing a Hirsbrunner F with a custom made leadpipe by Gottfried Buechel from Bonn (Germany).

Adams now makes that horn.

Hirsbrunner still makes that horn.
Adams makes a similar tuba based on Hirsbrunner tooling. Adams now owns the parts makers of Hirsbrunner and others, and the tooling, and Adams also owns the rights to use the Hirsbrunner tooling for Adams tubas. That's a tongue twister to say.
You can still get a Hirsbrunner tuba from Peter Hirsbrunner, same as always.

Hello there!
Thanks for watching and the nice comments! =)
We played this in August 2013: the video is amazing...only the sound engineer wasn't that good!
( he puts two microphones on the floor, just in the directions of the two trumpets... that's why you hear some "echo" effects sometimes...). Please have a look on the other videos with Eburon Quintet or make a tour on our Facebook page (
http://www.facebook.com/eburonquintet" target="_blank)
I'm playing a Hirsbrunner (HBS 388) F Tuba, the lead pipe is made by Büchel (
http://www.buechelmusik.de" target="_blank).
My mouthpiece is based on a Dennis Wick indeed. The rim is from yamaha, cup is from Dennis Wick 2SL and the Shank is from Bruno Tilz. It's a looong story to explain why and how I came to this...

I like the "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's tuba" aesthetic!

Hello Jean,
Had you made your mouthpiece by Werner Schmidt of Markneukirchen?
(He not only offers a broad assortment of his own design, but I know he is also a master in combining elements of your choice).
Thanks in advance,
Hubert

Hello Hubert,
My teacher Hans Nickel, did it a few years ago by Bernd Schramm in Köln (Metallblasinstrumentenbaumeister).
