I think it might be for sale? At any rate a guy named Uwe is selling a kaiser BBb on Facebook.

The one for sale is a Lignatone made by Cerveny.

With all due (dis-)respect for video sound: If that video was to express the potentials of that Hüller 6/4 BBb, I wouldn’t buy it.

It's too big. Even if it sounded nice... It's just too big. Unless of course, if that man is very small.

This popped up on the side of this page: A video from the NY Times featuring the Carl Fischer "Largest Tuba In The World":

Good Golly that is really big!(the words I always want to hear from my wife)<S>Couldn't it be considered bigger than a 6/4??I noticed there were several takes on the film I think it's so he could get some air.. that's a lot of horn to fill..BB

It does sound quite "dull" to me too. Maybe he's not putting enough air into it or something. This horn should be way bigger sounding..
I think it's more of a recording issue than the lack of air... probably a poor microphone from a tablet or a phone
probably a poor microphone from a tablet or a phone, but hardly the problem

How would a you record a trumpet in a five gallon bucket?
A bigger room would help the mobile mic.
Plus blowing very long waves into the corner of a small room creates all kinds of interference

Here a sound sample with about the same size of tuba (a Lignatone by Cerveny) also recorded in a corner.

The Cerveny 601 BBb is the largest I have played and would consider it too big for anything useful, although they are great conversation pieces. Here is a video I did compared to an alex 163 CC, big difference.

Yep...and a poor acoustic environment (practice room). Keep in mind that guy isn't playing very loud or aggressively. But with good headphones you can still hear the 'deep bass' of that huge Kaisertuba. I guarantee that tuba would sound much bigger if recorded with better equipment in a large room/hall :!:
