F tuba suggestions - $5k budget

Post by michael_glenn »

Hello all,
I would like your suggestions. I am in the search for a better F tuba. Once my F sells, I'll have a budget of about $5000. My main priorities are intonation. The less lipping, and slide pulls, the better. I am drawn to piston F's because of the easier low register, but I would be open to a rotary F as long as it's not a train wreck like some I have played. Also, I would hope to have something with a very warm sound that is nice and smooth, almost like butter.
Any suggestions? Thank you!
And yes, I plan on trying before buying. I just want to have other people's opinion so I have good ideas for WHAT to try. Thank you!

Hi-
PT-10 clone JinBao F tuba model 540 (rotary) or a BMB J-445 F Tuba (piston).
