Hey guys,
I've got a senior recital coming up in about a year and I've been raised with a strong love of Christmas. Firstly, does anyone know of some good solo Christmas rep at all? Do you think a recital of solo Christmas tuba would be fun to listen to? Should I through in the Vaughan Williams tuba concerto? Thoughts are welcomed by all and greatly appreciated.

I did not think that there was much of a market for that. It is a degree recital, but I've already done two recital prior to this one. Mostly what I'm trying to do is have a lot more fun on my last one. If anyone knew of a Christmas-based tuba solo then I would probably find it here. I did manage to find a tuba solo for frosty the snow man accompanied by a brass band. We have a brass band on campus I just wouldn't want to drag all of those people on stage. I appreciate your input. Thank you very much for your input. Would you recommend any pieces that are serious enough for a recital necessary for graduation, but also exceedingly fun to play?

There's the Snowflakes Cd of Baadsvik. Ask him if there's arrangements with piano accompaniment.

I rather like Frackenpohl's Studies on Christmas Carols for solo tuba. They are not necessarily easy but they are enjoyable to play and very musical. The audience always gives a favorable response.
