Help to identify this tuba

This is a recent purchase of mine .The bore is .750 , It looks to me like a york 716 with a removable bell.

Hmmm... .750" bore?? Looks like a York 'Master' to me.

It doesnt look like any of the master pictures on the internet.

Gonna guess original York. The bell receiver and valve caps are slightly different than the York Master tubas Dan posted but are identical to the York 716 I own.

There are some slight differences in appearance but I don't think the original Yorks used the tapered receiver/tenon sets. That seems to be a Bohm & Meinl thing.

The name 'York' was passed around quite a bit once the American York factory was closed.

Despite the general condition, lacquer & overall appearance, The caps & two thick braces on the upper 3rd slide kinda say York to me. Gee whiz, the older YM and the Yorks look a lot alike.

...also, the bell screws are at the very top of the tenon, like a York...


....also that big a** diamond shaped brace on the leadpipe front & center...

Yep. Going with York.
